Denmark PM Mette Frederiksen has been remaining “shocked” soon after remaining attacked in the street in Copenhagen, her workplace says.

The assault took area on a square in the centre of the city in which a person walked up to her and strike her.

The attacker has been arrested.

EU chief Charles Michel and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola termed the attack “appalling”.

“Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was beaten on Friday evening at Kultorvet in Copenhagen by a male who was subsequently arrested. The Key Minister is stunned by the incident,” the prime minister’s business said in a assertion with no offering additional detail.

Law enforcement claimed they experienced arrested a guy and had been investigating the incident but declined to give further element.

The assault will come two times before Denmark votes in the EU election.

“I strongly condemn this cowardly act of aggression,” he reported.
