A law enforcement officer has been wounded in a crossbow assault exterior the Israeli embassy in the Serbian capital, Belgrade.

Inside Minister Ivica Dacic explained to reporters that the officer had subsequently shot and killed the assailant.

The attacker – who authorities have explained was Serbian – had strike the policeman in the neck with an arrow, Mr Dacic mentioned.

The officer has experienced operation, and is no extended in a serious affliction, authorities say.

Serbian broadcaster B92 quoted Mr Dacic as expressing the attacker had approached a compact building at the front of the Israeli embassy close to 11:00 (09:00 GMT), purportedly asking about a museum.
